With a new year comes new ideas and new dreams and for me, a new list of things I wish to accomplish.
I need to make sure I do my best to keep the storm drains in front of my neighbour’s house clear of leaves and debris. I do this so water does not back up and pool in front of my driveway and start flooding up the driveway but I also do this so, if we have a fast freeze, the water in front of my house does not turn into a skating rink.

I will remove all the holiday decorations off my front lawn and house on one of those warm days. I put everything in the garage overnight to dry out. This includes inflating all my lawn figures. When they are dry, I pack them away with dryer sheets tucked in the boxes to deter mice.
I bought several extension cord caddies on which to wrap my Christmas lights. I use these for both inside and outside lights. I do leave the lights I wrapped around my evergreens last fall. The light chords help hold the branches in place and prevent snow damage from heavy snowfalls.
I label all my bins and boxes with what is in them. This makes it much easier to decorate next year. I put things away in the order I will need them, so my garlands and trees are the last thing into the storage area since they will be the first things out next year. I even bag or box things that go in the same room or display together so it is easier to go room to room when decorating.
May 2025 be the best year yet.
