Fundraiser established for victim of fatal marine accident

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of a victim of a recent marine fatality.

On June 10, emergency services responded to a call of a pleasure craft operator in distress around 2:20 p.m. near Bayfield.

Police say when they arrived Huron County EMS and Bluewater Fire Services personnel were performing life saving measures on an individual who had been brought to shore. However, a 32-year-old Bluewater resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

A local firefighter also died as a result of their own medical emergency at the scene.

The friends and family of the 32-year-old Bluewater man have set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money to help the two children of the man who tragically lost their life.
