Corporate Challenge makes return for local chambers of commerce

The Chamber of Commerce for Goderich, North and South Huron is reviving an old tradition.

General Manager Heather Boa says the last Corporate Challenge was in 1991 but it’s back this year.

Boa says they’ve found a sponsor for the event and the official title is the Royal LePage Heartland Realty 2023 Corporate Challenge.

“It’s just an afternoon of crazy, zany, silly test of your brains and brawn. Small teams of four to six people from local businesses from our members and non-members,” said Boa

If a business wants to enter but doesn’t have enough people to make up a team, Boa says they’re welcome to join up with another business in town. The Corporate Challenge takes place in Friday, June 23 at the Goderich Memorial Arena on the grassy area between the arena and Bannister Park. If it rains, they’ll move the event indoors.

“People are invited to set up their tents if it’s sunny and then they can rest there, they can rest under the pavilion. Lots of activity going on, spectators are welcome to come out and watch the competition,” Boa added.

Boa says registration is at 12:30 p.m. and the events begin at 1 p.m. More information about the Corporate Challenge by going to Huronchamber.ca under events.

Boa says their working with Engage Goderich on this event. Engage Goderich is a group of young professionals in Goderich that is just re-forming after the pandemic. She adds Square Brew will be set up for beverages and Harbour Hill Retirement Community will run the barbecue.
