One person is dead and another was in custody as police conducted a homicide investigation in Hanover.
Police said on Wednesday there was no threat to public safety after a person was arrested by Owen Sound officers. The identity of the deceased and the person arrested were not immediately made public.
Just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, Hanover police responded to a home on 5th Street in the Grey County community of about 8,000 where officers located a person deceased.

Police say a vehicle of interest was seen in the Owen Sound area and one person was taken into custody, reads a statement by South Bruce OPP, who are assisting Hanover police in the investigation.
Owen Sound Police Insp. Jeff Fluney said Wednesday that Owen Sound police assisted the OPP and Hanover police in the Tuesday arrest. The person arrested was turned over to Hanover police, Fluney said.
The investigation was in its early stages Wednesday and the OPP said residents should expect to see an increased police presence in the area of 5th Street. Hanover police Chief Chris Knoll referred questions on the investigation back to the Ontario Provincial Police.
Police were observed monitoring a scene in the residential area on Wednesday afternoon. A home at 475 5th St. was roped off by caution tape.

Firefighters battle London highrise blaze
London firefighters were called to a blaze in a downtown-area highrise on Thursday morning.
In a statement on social media, London Fire Department officials said shortly after 9 a.m. that they were called to an apartment building at 1 Grosvenor Ave., located next to Gibbons Park northwest of city’s core. They indicated it would force tenants on the seventh floor to evacuate their units.
