A 21-year-old London man is facing several charges after a tow truck driver in Huron County was injured when a vehicle removed from a ditch sped away.

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police and paramedics responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck on Airport Line between Huron Street and Thames Road East, just west of Exeter, on Thursday at about 5:30 p.m.

Police found a tow truck driver who had been struck by a fleeing vehicle.
The tow truck driver was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Huron County OPP said.
Police say the tow truck driver had removed the suspect vehicle from the ditch earlier. While waiting for payment, the driver sped off and struck the tow operator, launching them into the ditch.
Police identified the vehicle and driver involved and laid charges on Friday.
A 21-year-old London man is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon, failure to stop after an accident and fraud under $5,000.
The accused was arrested and released with a scheduled court date in Goderich next month.

Police probe theft of Christmas decoration
Aylmer police said on Monday they were investigating the theft of an “inflatable Santa” Christmas decoration from the front lawn of a home in the Elgin County town this weekend.
Police say video footage shows that two men took the decoration from a Treadwell Street home at about 9 p.m. on Saturday. The stolen item is valued at about $100, police said.
The investigation was ongoing as of Monday, police said.
