The suspects ran away and officers searched the area but didn’t make any arrests, police said.
Christian Marengere, 39, of London was arrested Tuesday and charged with discharging a firearm with intent to wound or endanger life, break and enter with intent and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Court records show Marengere lives at the Simcoe Street high-rise operated by London and Middlesex Community Housing. The 12-storey building features 217 one-bedroom units. The complainants in that case are two women.
A bench warrant was issued for Marengere’s arrest on Oct. 15 after he didn’t show up to his first court appearance in St. Thomas, court documents show.
The charges stem from Sept. 15, when Aylmer police located a motorcyclist after being alerted that they may be impaired by a concerned citizen around 12:15 p.m. The driver was arrested after a field sobriety test was administered, and an “ultra-high voltage Taser’ was found in his pocket, Aylmer police said at the time.
Marengere was charged with impaired driving, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a concealed weapon. He was released on an undertaking – a document created by either a court or police that places the charged person under certain conditions – that required him to not possess any weapons and notify Aylmer police if he changed his address, court documents say.
