Police have charged the owner of the dogs – a 34-year-old Brant County resident – with failing to prevent their dog from biting a person, a charge under Ontario’s Dog Owners’ Liability Act.

The status of the animals was not known at time of publication on Wednesday.

Police said public-health officials in Brant County would have been notified of the incident. “The (dogs’) owner would have been provided with direction from them,” police said.

Officials with the health unit did not immediately respond to a request for information.
