Police probe Huron County death
Ontario Provincial Police say they were called to an address in rural Huron County on Tuesday afternoon, launching a reported death investigation.
Residents in Central Huron were being asked to avoid the area of Cut Line Road between Parr Line and Tipperary Line, near the town of Clinton. Radio station CKNX is reporting it’s a death investigation, citing a police statement: “An individual was located, transported to hospital and later pronounced dead.”
Police noted there was no ongoing threat to public safety.
Motorcyclist hurt in Hwy. 401 crash
A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash along Hwy. 401 east of London, Ontario Provincial Police said on Tuesday evening.
OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said the crash occurred in the westbound lanes of the highway, just east of Dorchester Road. The rider was taken to hospital with what police called serious injuries.
The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and an SUV, Sanchuk said, adding the investigation slowed traffic and left it backed up for several kilometres.
Sanchuk urged passing drivers to pay attention to the road ahead of them, not the wreckage.
“We’ve seen people attempting to take pictures, we’ve seen people rubber-necking,” he said in a video statement posted to social media. “Do yourself a favour: Get where you’re going safely and more importantly, get home safely to your families.”
