SPORTS BRIEFS: Georgian Bay Giants fall just short at ISC II

GIANTS RUNNER-UP AT ISC II WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
The Georgian Bay Giants (Wiarton) fell 6-0 to the Pueblo Bandits in the championship game of the International Softball Congress II tournament in Denmark, Wisconsin, Thursday. Giants Riley Torrie and Cole McDougall were selected to the ISC II All-Star team. The ISC World Tournament is an annual tournament held each year to determine the best softball club in North America with teams from six regions competing. The current format has 48 teams in a modified double-elimination bracket. The first 16 teams eliminated from the ISC World Championship tournament are relegated to the ISC II tournament. The Wiarton Nationals won the ISC II World Championship in 2015 and were runner-up in 2019. The Port Elgin Blue Devils won the ISC II title in 2009. Read More
