Our three Southern Sudanese children came to Canada as refugees. Two have now graduated from Fanshawe College and are working. The third is in her third year at King’s University College. We are as proud as can be, but for years we wondered if we were up to the task of parenting them. Their early lives had plagued them with memories and nightmares that seemed beyond our ability for which to offer care.
