Firefighters battled a blaze at a home in east London on Friday that appeared to have also damaged two neighbouring houses.

It was about 12:15 p.m. on Friday when London Fire Department officials posted on social media about the fire at 1826 Culver Dr., which is located southeast of the intersection of Clarke Road and Oxford Street.

Shortly before noon, London police said Culver Drive between Culver Crescent and Clarke Road had been shut down as fire crews battled the blaze.

Fire officials said “no patients were reported at this time.” A Free Press journalist at the scene estimated that three homes were involved in the fire, and two of them were destroyed.

Neighbours said it started at about 10 a.m.

Video posted on social media showed flames shooting through the roof of what appeared to be a single-storey home on a corner lot. The flames sent billows of thick smoke into the air as the video showed firefighters around the scene.
