Police say that officers spoke with witnesses and reviewed video surveillance footage that showed the same man had attempted to repeatedly force his way into the home, made threats toward people inside and damaged a window.
Police said the suspect and victims are known to each other.
It was about 4:45 a.m., with officers still in the area, when the suspect returned to the home again, wearing a ski mask over his face, police said. He was arrested, police said.
During the arrest, the suspect continued to utter threats towards the victims and officers, police said, adding that a police officer was assaulted while the suspect was being booked into the cells at London police headquarters.
A 37-year-old from London is charged with two counts of uttering death threats or threats to cause bodily harm, mischief under $5,000, disguise with intent and assaulting a peace officer. He was scheduled to appear in London court on Thursday in relation to the charges, police said.
Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to call London police at (519) 661-5670 or, for those wishing to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
