A two-vehicle crash sent three people to hospital on Monday morning, police in Oxford County say.

Ontario Provincial police say say the three people sent to hospital suffered minor injuries in the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Road 74 and 19th Line in Zorra Township. That intersection is located in a rural area directly north of Thamesford.

A photo from the crash scene, published on social media by Oxford OPP, showed one of the vehicles involved was a big rig that appeared to suffer heavy damage in the crash.

Police probe Leamington home invasion

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a home invasion in Leamington that they believe was a targeted incident.

The incident occurred Saturday morning around 5 a.m. at a home on Robson Road, police said.

Two people entered the home and confronted two occupants, police said. Both occupants suffered minor injuries as a result of an altercation inside the home, police said.

The suspects left the scene in a vehicle, police said.

Investigators said there is no threat to public safety because they believe it was a targeted incident.

Police are also looking for a suspect after a “disturbance” in Lakeshore Saturday around 10 a.m. sent one person to hospital.

Officers were called to an area on Fourth Street in Belle River where they found the injured person, police said. The person was taken to hospital with injuries that police said were not considered life-threatening.

A second person fled the scene on foot, police said, adding members of the OPP canine and emergency response team were unable to locate the suspect.

Police said there is no threat to the public because they consider it an isolated incident.

Essex County OPP continues to investigate both incidents and is asking that anyone with any information contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
