Student, 15, charged after ‘violence’ at high school: Police

A teenage student from a St. Thomas high school is facing an assault charge after a “violent altercation” sent another person to hospital, police say.

Staff at the high school – which wasn’t named by police – called police to report an incident of violence between two people on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., according to a statement issued on Wednesday by St. Thomas police.

As a result of the altercation, one person was taken to hospital and treated for injuries, police said.

After an investigation by St. Thomas police, a 15-year-old student was charged with assault, police said in a statement.

The student facing charges was processed at the St. Thomas police headquarters and released. They are scheduled for a future court date, police said.

Man, 24, charged after parking dispute flare-up

A 24-year-old Windsor man is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon after a parking dispute in Chatham.

On Sept. 19, a person tried to speak with a driver regarding his parking on McNaughton Avenue West when the driver sprayed the person with pepper spray and fled, Chatham-Kent police said.

The man was identified through video footage and on Tuesday Ontario Provincial Police say they had a suspect in custody.

The man was released with conditions and a future court date, police said.

Police probe two cases of mischief

Ontario Provincial Police in Norfolk County are asking the public for help solving two “acts of mischief” that occurred in the towns of Waterford and Delhi.

It was about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday when police were called to a business on Old Highway 24 in Waterford, where they say windows were damaged. It was about 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday when officers were called to Adams Avenue in Delhi, were police say a parked vehicle was vandalized.

Both investigations remained ongoing as of Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call OPP at 1-800-310-1122.
