One person is dead after a fire Thursday morning in an east London townhouse, London police said.
Flames and smoke were coming from a two-storey townhouse at 121 Bonaventure Dr. when London firefighters arrived at about 11:30 a.m., the fire department said in a post on X.
The department reported heavy fire conditions on the main floor. A video posted by the department shows flames shooting from windows on the first and second floors and smoke billowing from the burning building.
At about noon, the fire department said firefighters were attacking the fire using an aerial ladder. A primary search had been completed and there were no reported injuries, the department said in an update.
But about two hours later, London police said a deceased person had been found in the townhouse.

The force’s major crime section, the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the chief coroner are investigating, police said.
Damage is estimated at more than $500,000, the fire department said.
This is the fourth fatal fire in London this year.
George Grebenchan, 31, died of his injuries from a fire at the Tolpuddle Housing Co-op at 654 King St., east of Adelaide Street, on May 15. The fire was contained to one bedroom and caused an estimated $200,000 in damages.
A day earlier, a person was found dead after a fire in a home at 1600 Nairn Ave., west of Cheapside Street and Clarke Road.
Jeremy Carson, 42, was killed on March 9 when a fire ripped through a six-unit apartment at 33 Becher St., just west of downtown. The blaze destroyed the building and caused an estimated $1.5-million damage.
