Daniel John To, 26, is charged with sexual assault.

Police didn’t name the business or say what type of services it provided, but officials with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario told The Free Press it’s aware of the criminal charge against To, who has been licensed with the regulator since 2020.

“(The college) has commenced an investigation into these allegations and is cooperating with the London Police Service,” officials said in a statement.

To was arrested May 4 after turning himself in at London police headquarters. He wasn’t held in custody and was released on an undertaking, a document created by either a court or police that places the charged person under certain conditions

Under his release conditions, To can’t go within 50 metres of the female complainant in the case or provide any massage services unless in the “continuous presence of a third party,” the documents state.

To obtained a diploma from Fanshawe College in 2019 and works as a message therapist at Synergy Centre at 1635 Hyde Park Rd., according to the regulatory body’s records. But To isn’t featured on a section of Synergy’s website listing its massage therapists. Synergy didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Although To’s license to work as a massage therapist is still listed as current, the regulator has added a note about the criminal charge against him and his release conditions. “The registrant has criminal court-imposed conditions,” it reads.

To is scheduled to make his first court appearance on June 13.
