One person is dead and three people were hurt after a crash north of London Wednesday evening, police say.
Emergency crews, including Middlesex County OPP officers along with paramedics and firefighters, were called to Richmond Street in Middlesex Centre for a two-vehicle collision shortly before 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.
As a result of the collision, one person was pronounced dead, and three others were taken to hospital, police said. The injuries suffered by the three people taken to hospital were not immediately made clear by police.

Richmond Street was closed between Eight Mile and Nine Mile roads for the investigation, police said. The road was reopened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, police said in an update posted to social media, adding: “Tough night for all.”
Teen charged after BB gun brought to school: Police
An Elgin County teenager is facing several charges after police in St. Thomas say a BB gun was brought to school.
Police say they were notified by staff of a St. Thomas high school on Tuesday that a possible firearm was in the building, officials said. Police declined to identify the school.
Police say they learned that a teenager brought a weapon to school anticipating an altercation with fellow students. St. Thomas police and Ontario Provincial Police officers used a warrant to arrest a 14-year-old at their home, police said. The weapon, a BB gun, was seized, police said.
The accused is charged with pointing a firearm, uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order.
Area police issue alert over scam
Ontario Provincial Police in Perth County say they’re alerting the public after receiving reports of suspicious text messages claiming to be from a government agency.

In a statement posted to social media on Thursday morning, police say they’ve cautioned people who receive text messages from the Ministry of Transportation to not open the links or pop ups because “they are likely phishing scams designed to obtain your personal information for fraudulent means.”
Police are asking anyone who observes suspicious activity to report it to the Canadian anti-fraud centre by calling 1-888-495-8501.
