Damage due to a blaze at an industrial building in the city’s northwest end is pegged at $250,000, London Fire Department officials say.
Just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, fire officials said in a statement on social media that crews were at the scene of a blaze at an industrial building at Blue Heron Drive and Mallard Road, near Hyde Park Road and Fanshawe Park Road West. Officials later said the fire was “knocked down” and firefighters were in “overhaul operations.”

By 11:30 p.m., fire crews were clearing the scene, officials said, adding the the cause of the fire was undetermined due to the “extensive damage” caused by the blaze. Damage was estimated at $250,000.
Firefighters called to Dec. 25 apartment blaze
London firefighters were called Christmas morning to an apartment fire, officials said.
Firefighters responded just before 7 a.m. The blaze was contained on the ninth floor of the apartment building at 400 Lyle St. near Old East Village, fire officials said in a statement on social media.
A damage estimate wasn’t made public but “extensive water damage” was reported due to a sprinkler that was activated, officials said.
London industrial blaze battled by 33 firefighters
Almost three dozen firefighters were at the scene of “a large industrial fire” in the city’s southwest end Tuesday evening, London Fire Department officials said.
Just before 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve, fire officials said fire crews had knocked down the fire at 4117 Dowell Dr., which is near Exeter and White Oak Roads. They said aerial operations were ongoing and that 33 firefighters were at the scene.
At 11:30 p.m., fire officials said fire crews were clearing the scene after a “coordinated efficient and effective fire attack.”
The cost of the damage and cause of the blaze wasn’t immediately known, officials said.
