Two men from Walpole Island First Nation are facing charges after Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to reports of gunfire during a fight on Thursday afternoon.
It was about 5 p.m. Thursday when officers with Walpole Island First Nation Police and Lambton OPP responded to an altercation at an address on River Road in the First Nation community west of Wallaceburg, police said.

Officers took two people into custody without incident and no injuries were reported, police said.
A 29-year-old man from Walpole Island First Nation is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
Another man, 35, from Walpole Island First Nation is charged with:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Reckless discharging of a firearm
- Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Both were held in custody and were scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Dec. 24, police said.
Man, woman face drug charges after raid
A man and a woman are charged after Ontario Provincial Police say officers seized an unspecified amount of illegal drugs while raiding a West Elgin home on Thursday.
Police say officers seized “quantities” of suspected narcotics including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and psilocybin.
Other property was also seized including a phone and a prohibited weapon, police said.
A 62-year-old woman from West Elgin is charged with drug possession for the purpose trafficking and unauthorized possession of a weapon. A 45-year-old man from West Elgin is charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon.
Both were released from custody and will next appear in St. Thomas court on Feb. 10, police said.
