A young boy is in hospital battling for his life after a collision Monday afternoon in the south end of the city, London police say.

Emergency crews responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near Longwoods and Murray roads just before 4 p.m., police said. That intersection is located west of Lambeth.

A young child was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Longwoods Road was closed between Colonel Talbot and Kilbourne roads for some time after the collision.

No one left the scene, police said, but officers are seeking the public’s help in the investigation.

Police are asking anyone who may have dashboard-camera footage or video surveillance near Longwoods Road at Murray Road between 3:45 p.m. and 4:05 p.m., or information that can help with the investigation, to contact them.

Anyone with information can call London police at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
