Two men face charges after London police seized a loaded gun and drugs during a traffic stop.

Officers conducted a traffic stop after spotting a vehicle travelling north in the southbound lanes of a construction zone near Wellington and Southdale roads shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

Drug packaging was visible inside the vehicle and the officers determined the passenger was wanted on warrants from outside the city, police said.

The driver and passenger were arrested and police searched the vehicle, seizing a loaded gun, drugs and cash, police said.

A London man, 19, and Ingersoll man, 20, are charged with occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm. The Ingersoll man is additionally charged three gun-related charges, drug possession and having cannabis readily available in a vehicle. The Londoner is additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order and possession of over 30 grams of cannabis in a public space.

Both men remained in custody and were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Big rig filled with $30K product stolen from St. Thomas compound

St. Thomas police are investigating the theft of a big rig from a storage yard in the city.

Officers were called Monday to a business on Highbury Avenue for a report of a transport truck that had been stolen, police said.

Investigators determined three suspects entered the gated compound on Sunday at about 5 a.m. and gained access to the truck, connecting it to a trailer containing $30,000 worth of product and driving away, police said.

Investigators were in the process of reviewing surveillance footage of the incident, police said on Tuesday.
