An Aylmer resident is facing an assault charge after police say a man was struck in the head with a tire iron.
Police in the Elgin County town say officers were called to a home just after 10 a.m. on Nov. 12. A disagreement between two men who knew each other escalated, and one of the men was struck several times in the head with a tire iron, police said.
The victim of the assault suffered a laceration to the head, but declined to seek medical attention for his injuries, according to police.

As a result of the incident, a 31-year-old Aylmer man was arrested and is facing a charge of assault with a weapon, police said. The man was later released from police custody with conditions and will appear in court next month.
Neighbour clash results in criminal charges
A 30-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing two charges after a clash between neighbours resulted in a person being struck by a thrown object.
St. Thomas police say officers were called to a southside St. Thomas address on Wednesday to investigate a report of “an ongoing neighbour dispute.”
According to police, when officers arrived, they were told a person had thrown an item at their neighbour while the latter was leaving the building.
Upon further investigation by officers, police learned the accused was violating an order to not communicate with the victim, police said.
As a result of the incident, the 30-year-old faces charges of assault with a weapon and criminal harassment, police said. They were taken to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date, police said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, police said.
