A man is facing a raft of charges after a gunpoint robbery at a business just south of downtown London, police say.
Police say it was shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday when a woman was working inside a locked business in the 200 block of Richmond Street – an area surrounding the intersection with Simcoe Street in the city’s Soho neighbourhood.
The woman answered a knock at the door, police said. After opening the door, a man pointed a handgun at her and demanded money, police said.

When the victim gave the gun-toting man the cash, he struck her with the gun and took property from her before running away from the scene, police said.
The victim contacted London police and provided a description of the suspect, police said, adding that the woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the attack.
It was less than 90 minutes later, at about 8:45 p.m., when London police say that officers found a suspect in the area of Hamilton Road and Adelaide Street. The man was searched, police said, and officers found stolen property and an undisclosed amount of drugs. A gun wasn’t found during the search, police said.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old man from London is facing multiple charges, including armed robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence, pointing a firearm, breach of a conditional sentence order and three counts of drug possession.
He was scheduled to appear in London court on Monday in relation to the charges.
