Killer Bees sign former NHL defenceman

The Alvinston Killer Bees signed former NHL defenceman Jake Dotchin of Cambridge.

Dotchin, 30, played 103 NHL games in three seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Anaheim Ducks from 2016 to 2019. He also played 214 games in the American Hockey League and three seasons in Czechia.

“Dotchin brings exceptional skills, grit, and experience to our blue-line, and we can’t wait to see him dominate on the ice in the black and yellow,” the Killer Bees said in a statement. “He’s known for his hard hits, blistering shot, hockey IQ and leadership, all of which make him a game-changer on our roster.”

The Killer Bees (6-1-0) lead the Ontario Super Hockey League’s Western Division. They visit the Strathroy Jets Friday and host the Stratford Fighting Irish Saturday at 6:45 p.m.
