Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Leblanc Ashe after a man was shot in broad daylight at a townhouse complex on Boullee Street on Sept. 11.
A complex resident, who didn’t want to be identified, previously described seeing two men arguing in front of a row of townhomes before one of them pulled a handgun from a side bag and opened fire on the other one. The gunfire left the front door of a nearby unit pockmarked with bullet holes and neighbours in the geared-to-income complex on edge.
There have been six cases of gunfire in London this year, resulting in five people injured, compared to 28 shootings in all of last year.
Most recently, two masked men broke into a home on Meadowgate Boulevard, southeast of Commissioners Road and Highbury Avenue, and fired a shot that missed an occupant on Oct. 5. Shayne Cousins, 29, faces multiple charges in the case and London police are still trying to identify a second suspect.
