Investigators remained on the scene Friday at an east London townhouse complex where a woman died when a fire ripped through a unit Thursday morning.
One person was found dead inside a unit at 121 Bonaventure Dr., northeast of Trafalgar Street and Veterans Memorial Parkway, after the fire was put out, London police said. The fire was reported at about 11:25 a.m.

Neighbours say a woman was killed but declined to provide her name, citing the need to protect her family’s privacy.
Police officers, firefighters and investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal were stationed outside the fire-ravaged home that had more than $500,000 damage, the London fire department said.
Firefighters removed charred furniture, personal belongings and other household items from the home, tossing them through a window into a pile below. A badly burned mattress was lying outside the front door.
Spokespersons for the police and fire department said there were no updates to provide in the case Friday.
More than a half-dozen fire trucks and 28 firefighters fought the blaze that sent flames and smoke from windows on the first and second floors.
Colin Shewell, a platoon chief with the London fire department, said fire deaths in Ontario tend to increase in the hall. He said residents should have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and an escape plan.
This week’s fire fatality is the fourth in London this year. Most recently, George Grebenchan, 31, died after he was pulled from a fire at the Tolpuddle Housing Co-op at 654 King St., east of Adelaide Street, on May 15.
