Man seriously injured in east-end shooting, suspect at large: London police

Several bullet holes were visible in the front door of a unit in an public housing complex where a man was shot Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded around 4:20 p.m. to a report of possible gunfire at a home on Boullee Street, north of Cheapside Street, where a man with a gunshot wound was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The suspect left before officers arrived, police said.

More than a half-dozen bullet holes were visible in the front door of one unit and there were blood stains on the stoop.

The shooting happened at a townhouse operated by London and Middlesex and Community housing that has been the past scene of gun violence.

“There will be an significant police presence for an undetermined amount of time while the investigation is ongoing, and we are asking members of the public to remain out of the area,” police said in a post on X.

There have been five cases of gunfire in London this year, down significantly from 22 by this time last year.

Most recently, police were notified after a man showed up at hospital with suspected gunshot wounds on July 21 around 5 a.m. The man was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police have arrested two suspects, Mohamed Sail, 34, and Dean Robert Dickieson, 31, and have a warrant for a third man, Tristan Omari King-Wilson, 23.

B.C. man charged after $540K drug seizure

A B.C. man faces charges after officers seized more than $540,000 in fentanyl and cocaine in two recent searches, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers with warrants searched a vehicle and a short-term rental property on Erie Shore Drive at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 5, police said. The property was rented by the vehicle’s driver.

Police seized fentanyl with an estimated street value exceeding $500,000, cocaine valued at $42,000, about $2,000 in cash, a stun gun, mobile devices, a digital scale and packaging material.

A 27-year-old man from Burnaby, B.C., is charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance for trafficking and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon without authorization, police said. After a bail hearing, he was remanded in custody pending a court appearance Wednesday
