A road in St Thomas remained closed Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck a hydro pole overnight, police say.
Ron McNeil Line was closed between Pine Valley Drive and Burwell Road following the collision, which saw the driver taken to hospital with serious injuries. Hydro crews were working through the morning to restore power to the area, police said.

A London man is charged after police were called to a break-in at a south-end property, police say.
It was shortly after 6 a.m. on Tuesday when police say that a security guard contacted them after seeing a person breaking into a business on Wellington Road and Base Line Road East. He called 911, police said, and gave a description of the suspect.
Police say officers found a man exiting the back of the store. A 37-year-old is facing two charges and is scheduled to appear in London court on Sept. 26.
Sarnia residents charged in break-in: Police
Two Sarnia residents face charges after a business break-in on Sunday morning, city police say.
Officers responding to an alarm at a Vidal Street South business at about 5 a.m. found one man in a pickup, who claimed to be an employee of the business, near a hole in a fence, police said. A second man was found in the truck bed with bolt cutters.
A police dog searched the property, but no other suspects were found, police said.
Two Sarnia residents, aged 23 and 28, are charged with breaking and entering and mischief under $5,000, police said. The 28-year-old also is charged with possessing break-in tools and breaching probation.
