Police officer assaulted, security guard threatened

St. Thomas police say a 59-year-old woman is charged after a security guard was threatened and a cop was threatened.

Police say it was “the early morning hours” of Wednesday when officers were called to a downtown address regarding an unwanted person. Police say they were told someone made death threats against a security guard.

A woman was spotted nearby, police say, and an officer was assaulted amid an arrest. The woman arrested was taken to St. Thomas police headquarters and released with a future court date, police say.

The woman, once out of custody, returned to an address in breach of her release conditions. She was arrested again and held for a Wednesday court hearing.

Historic sexual assault cases

St. Thomas police have made arrests in a pair of unrelated historical sexual assault investigations.

A 48-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with historic sexual assault. Another St. Thomas resident, age 46, was also arrested on what police called “an unrelated historical sexual assault.”

Both were released from custody with a future court date. Police did not make public any other details in the two investigations.
