Damage is estimated at $100,000 after a driver who didn’t stop at a RIDE spotcheck drove through a fence and shed and crashed into a home in southeast London, police said.
The driver blew through the OPP check at a Highway 401 off-ramp to Veterans Memorial Parkway at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, London police said Monday.
OPP officers provided the vehicle’s licence plate and description to London police.

A few minutes later, a vehicle left the road, drove through a fence, shed and backyard and struck the rear of a home on Ponds Edge Court, police said.
Witnesses gave police a description of the male driver, who had run away.
Police determined the vehicle was the same one that had failed to stop at the RIDE spotcheck.
A member of the canine unit and police dog began to track the suspect from the collision scene. A loaded firearm was found outside the vehicle, police said.
A 911 caller then reported a male had damaged a door and tried to break into a home on Pond Mills Road, about 300 metres from the crash, at 12:50 a.m. The suspect had left a backpack, police said.
Officers reviewed video surveillance footage and determined the suspect was the man who had crashed the vehicle.
At around 2 a.m., police were told the suspect was inside a home on Pond Mills Road, near Bradley Avenue.
After a negotiation with police, a man came out of the home and was arrested at 3 a.m., police said.
Police seized a loaded firearm, 504 grams of cocaine valued at $25,000, 15 unidentified pills and a conducted energy weapon. Total property damage is estimated to be around $100,000.
