Two charged after items stolen from vehicles
Two men are facing charges after police say vehicles were entered on the 800 block of Maple Avenue in the Windsor-area town of LaSalle on Friday morning.
Police say two people were seen by a witness entering the vehicles around 7 a.m. The witness then informed police.
The pair was found after a brief foot chase by officers, police said.
Police found several pieces of stolen property in their possession, including credit cards belonging to seven different people, police said.
Two men, ages 18 and 20, were later released with a court date to answer to criminal charges. Police encourage anyone in that area who had their vehicles entered to contact the LaSalle Police Service at 519 969-5210. Police also remind drivers that the simplest way to deter thieves from stealing from your vehicle is to lock your doors and keep all valuables out of sight or bring it in your house.
