A child was struck by a vehicle in London’s Old South neighbourhood Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded around 3:45 p.m. to Wortley Road and Briscoe Street, where a vehicle struck a young girl. A witness said the girl was hit in the crosswalk while walking with a group.
The collision drew a fire truck, two ambulances, several police cruisers and a large crowd of spectators to the scene.

Paramedics could be seen placing the girl in a neck brace, while the female driver of the vehicle spoke with a police officer nearby. There was no immediate word on the extent of the child’s injuries.
Windsor police seize $20K in fentanyl, other illegal drugs
Windsor police say they seized more than $20,000 worth of illegal street drugs, including fentanyl, while conducting a search on the city’s west side.
Following an investigation by the Windsor police drugs and guns unit, officers arrested a 46-year-old man outside a business in a west-end neighbourhood.
Before taking the suspect into custody, officers searched the suspect’s vehicle, with assistance from K9 police dog Coal, police said.
Police say they seized 55.6 grams of fentanyl, 54.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 27.9 grams of cocaine.
The total value of the drugs seized was $20,220, according to a police statement posted to social media.
A man is charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Earlier this month, Windsor police reported seizing more than $30,000 worth of street drugs while executing a search warrant just east of the city’s downtown core. Following an investigation, officers from the drugs and guns unit arrested a 52-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman linked to an apartment in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue.
