Two long weekend collisions in Elgin County sent eight people to hospital in less than a day, police say.
in a series of social media posts Sunday evening and early Monday, Ontario Provincial Police in Elgin County warned first of an investigation into a collision Sunday between a vehicle and a motorcycle on Quaker Road near Elm Line, east of St. Thomas. Both drivers were taken to hospital with injuries, with police terming the motorcyclist’s injuries “serious.” No other information was provided, but both roads are now open.

Early Monday, shortly after midnight, police reported a three-vehicle collision northwest of St. Thomas near the intersection of Ford Road and Talbot Line. Six people were sent to hospital, none with critical injuries, the OPP said later. No other details were immediately available.
Altercation at Windsor bus stop leads to assault charge
A 34-year-old man faces an assault charge following an altercation at a Windsor bus stop.
Police say the incident occurred May 30, when two men who didn’t know each other got into an argument while waiting at a bus stop in the 200 block of Wyandotte Street East. It is alleged one man struck the other in the head, breaking his lower jaw.
The injured man left and later reported the incident at Windsor Police Service headquarters, police said.
Officers with the major crimes unit investigated and were able to identify the suspect. They located and arrested the suspect July 29 in the 300 block of Church Street.
He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, police said.
