Three injured when tanker truck, vehicle collide: Police

Three people were injured when a tanker truck and vehicle collided east of London on Tuesday.

The crash occurred at 12:10 p.m. at Elgin and Gore roads just north of Dorchester, Middlesex OPP said.

One person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and two with serious injuries, police said.

OPP kept the intersection closed until Wednesday morning to assess damage to the roadway from the crash.

Taxi driver pepper-sprayed in fare dispute

A 26-year-old London woman is charged with assault with a weapon after a taxi driver was pepper-sprayed in the Old East Village.

A woman entered a parked taxi Monday about 3:30 p.m. in the area of Dundas and Lyle streets and asked to be taken to a nearby business but refused to pre-pay when asked to do so, London police said. The driver asked the woman to get out of the taxi, but she refused.

When the woman was asked again to leave the vehicle, she sprayed the driver with pepper spray and left on foot, police said. Officers arrested a suspect a short distance away.

Two Londoners charged in fallout of stolen vehicle crash

Two Londoners are facing a combined 13 charges after the driver of a vehicle reported stolen struck a patrol car while trying to flee from police, OPP say.

An Oneida Nation police officer travelling through the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation saw a suspicious vehicle on Antler River Road at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Middlesex OPP said. As the officer approached the vehicle on the narrow road, it collided with the cruiser and then struck a tree.
