More suspects charged in Sarnia-area drug seizures
At least four more people have been charged after police seized $47,000 in drugs in Sarnia and Corunna, bringing to seven the total number charged.
Officers seized various drugs July 17 during back-to-back searches on Cameron Street in Corunna and at a London Line motel in Sarnia, police said. Court records show the two locations were a house near Cameron and Lyndoch streets in Corunna, and The Gables Inn in Sarnia’s east end.
Officers seized an estimated $47,000 in drugs, including about 354 grams of crystal meth, seven grams of cocaine, 53 grams of fentanyl, 63 morphine tablets, two hydromorphone tablets and more than $2,200 in cash, police said.
After the initial searches, three suspects – ages 44, 46 and 42 – were charged with five counts of possessing drugs for trafficking, police said. Two of the individuals also face charges of breaching probationary terms.
Four more people – ages 34, 67, 40 and another of unknown age – also face drug charges linked to the same probe, court records show. One, a woman, turned herself in to authorities on Monday and was granted bail the following day. The others surrendered to authorities two days later.
