St. Thomas police have identified a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide and arson that occurred last week.
Emergency crews responded on July 3 at 12:30 a.m. to reports of a fire at 20 Hiawatha St., where a woman with a gunshot wound was found near the blaze, police said, adding she was taken to hospital and later died.
Investigators ruled the fire an arson and the death a homicide, the city’s first in eight years.

Tuesday, police announced they have obtained an arrest warrant for Keegan Harvey, 20, who is charged with accessory after the fact to murder in the death of Victoria Dill, 40, of St. Thomas.
Harvey is also charged with arson with disregard for human life.
Investigators released a photograph of Harvey, who is described as a white man who stands five-foot-10 with brown hair and a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.
“Do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately if seen or located,” police said in a statement.
Residents at Dill’s multi-unit apartment building on Hiawatha Street and neighbours recalled hearing a single gunshot and later seeing a woman lying on the ground of a nearby parking lot.
Dill was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on charges of fraud under $5,000 and possession of property under $5,000. She is alleged to have defrauded a woman out of $2,469 by depositing altered cheques on July 25, 2023, and she was also found in possession of three cheques in the name of the same woman, according to court documents.
It is expected that the charges against Dill will be withdrawn, as is customary when a defendant dies.
Anyone with information about the homicide or Harvey’s whereabouts is asked to call St. Thomas police at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
