Pedestrian, 47, killed in rural collision: Ontario Provincial Police

A 47-year-old man was killed after a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian north of Stratford, Ontario Provincial Police say.

It was about 11 p.m. on Tuesday when police say emergency crews were called to a collision on Perth Road 131, just north of Milverton and roughly 30 kilometres north of Stratford. It involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, police said.

The pedestrian involved in the crash, a man from Waterloo, was pronounced dead at the scene, Ontario Provincial Police said.

As a result of the collision, Perth Road 131 between Line 67 and Line 72 was closed for several hours while officials investigated but has since reopened, police said.

The investigation into the crash was ongoing on Wednesday, police said, adding that anyone with information about the crash – including video surveillance or dashboard-camera footage – is asked to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or *677 via cellphone.

Dresden man, 41, killed in crash

A 41-year-old Dresden man died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash east of Thamesville on Monday afternoon, police say.

The collision occurred on Longwoods Road between Dew Drop Road and Huff’s Side Road around 4:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent police said. A vehicle travelling west, driven by the man who died, had two passengers when it collided with a vehicle travelling east.

The Dresden man was takento hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The other driver and two passengers in the vehicle travelling west suffered minor injuries in the collision, police said.
