CHATHAM – Six people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash west of Chatham Monday night, the third collision in rural Southwestern Ontario that resulted in multiple injuries in the past week.
Chatham-Kent police say it was just before 9 p.m. when emergency crews were dispatched to a serious collision at the intersection of Queens Line and Merlin Road, police said. One vehicle was heading east on Queens Line, with a lone occupant, and the other was heading west on Queens Line, carrying six people, police said.

The westbound vehicle was turning onto Merlin Line when the collision occurred, police said.
The impact caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway and end up in a ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection, police said. The other vehicle remained in the east lane facing west, police added.
Emergency crews took six people to the hospital for medical attention: One of them was flown to a London hospital, police said, and two others were taken by ambulance to hospitals in London and one to Windsor, for further medical attention, police said.
