Gord Lang, a local farmer, businessman and entrepreneur who is chairing the event’s executive committee, has issued a challenge to everyone in Bruce County to put their logo and slogan ideas to paper.

The logo and slogan could be a brand new idea or a culmination of favourite items included in past logos and slogans, it said in a news release from the executive committee. Proposals can be sent to the IPM 2026 organizers at brucecountyipm@gmail.com prior to the July 1 deadline.

The committee has also put its first call out for volunteers for the event, which will run Sept 22 to 26, 2026 at Lang Farms in Walkerton.

It will require upwards of 1,500 volunteers to successfully hold the event, which is expected to attract over 200,000 people.

The executive committee has started to meet and put together the program as well as all of the sub-committees required to put on the week-long event.

“Show your pride in agriculture, community and Bruce County and step up and help in one of the thousands of roles that will be required,” Lang said in the release.

Interested participants, volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors can e-mail brucecountyipm@gmail.com identifying one’s area of interest and one of the volunteer organizers will respond.

The 2026 event will mark the fourth time the International Plowing Match has been held in Bruce County. It will also be the 50th anniversary of the IPM.
