MARY PICKETT
Mary Margaret Pickett (née Lee) of Belleville passed away in the hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, in her 78th year.
Beloved mother of Mace (Kimberly) of Richmond Hill, Kyle (Monica) of Ottawa, and Adyn (Becky) of Whitby.
Grandmother to Joshawa, Daniel, Mia, Marco, Elizabeth and Sawyer.
Predeceased by her parents, Joe and Dorothy Lee; and siblings Fred Lee and Jo-Anne Lee.
Mary was an obstetrics nurse in Kincardine for many years, while raising her three sons. She moved back to her hometown of Belleville in the early 90’s to be closer to her mom and sister. She often commented on how being a nurse was the only job she ever wanted and she was proud to have accomplished this goal. Mary had a fondness for Kincardine and missed the sound of the waves and the picture-perfect sunsets over Lake Huron.
Mary worked in Homecare in Belleville area for a while before back surgery, brought on from years of nursing, slowed her down. Mary was an avid reader and through her later years became a sports enthusiast and would watch almost every Toronto Blue Jays broadcast she could.
She will be missed by many.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
