Most of us have been reacting with shock and horror at news and photos of the devastating
forest fires in British Columbia and North West Territories.

We wonder how it could happen, and have been told this is what global climate change looks like. Those oncegentle ripples on the chart of our changing seasons have developed massive, alarmingly jagged and erratic spikes. (By Pauline Kerr)
