Obituary – Derek Ellmore

DEREK ELLMORE

Derek Ellmore, of Kincardine and formerly of Dutton, passed away at Trillium Court in Kincardine on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at age 86.
Born in Grimsby, England on April 13, 1937 to the late Bertie (1993) and Lucy (1997) (née Brown) Ellmore.
Survived by the love of his life, wife Sheila Ellmore (née Scott).
Fondly remembered by his children: Robb Jensen (Barb) of British Columbia, Toni Silverthorn (Dan) of London, Terry Nicolle (Bob) of Washago, Mark Jensen (Erna) of St. Catharines, Andrea Arvai (Louis) of West Lorne, Stuart Lowther of Burlington and Mandy Rose (David) of Chatham.
Sadly missed by son-in-law Rick Kauzen of Sarnia, 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Jeff Scott of Inverhuron, niece Julie (Steve), nephew Ian (Anne), great-niece Angela-Ruth Ellmore and great-nephew Nicholas Ellmore.
Predeceased by his brother Gordon Ellmore (2004) (Dorothy, 2016), daughter Dawn Kauzen (2019) and grandson Shane Jensen (2021).
Derek was passionate about the game of golf and enjoyed any activity that involved being outdoors. Derek served with the British Royal Air Forces and he was a proud retiree of the St. Thomas Ford Assembly Plant. He had a great love for family, especially his wife Sheila. While a resident of Kincardine, Derek proudly delivered the Toronto Star to his many customers.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Pinecrest Manor and Trillium Court, along with Dr. Gary Gurbin for their wonderful care and compassion.
Following Derek’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
