Damage ‘extensive’ after east London break-in

Two London men are facing charges after extensive damage was caused to an east-end business during an overnight break-in.

London police were called about a disturbance on Dundas Street near Clarke Road around 3:45 a.m. on Monday. Officers determined that business in the area was broken into and a silver Dodge Caravan was stolen from inside.

While a dollar figure has not been released, damage caused during the removal of the van is extensive, police said.

Roughly an hour and a half after the initial call, police found the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a mall in the south-end of the city. Two people were arrested without incident.

Two men, aged 49 and 39, are jointly charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000.

The 39-year-old has additionally been charged with impaired driving and driving while prohibited.

Both men will appear in London court in relation to the charges at a later date.
