As Jimmy Carter, America’s 39th president, recently entered hospice care, it prompted millions to recognize how much their views of him had changed during the course of his 98 years. Most recall the perceived failures and challenges of his one term in office. He was viewed as a micro-manager and, for years, was seen as a tepid leader.
