OPP investigating fatal collision in Norfolk County

A fatal collision in Norfolk County is being investigated by OPP after it claimed the life one person.

Emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle crash on Charlottevile Road 10 just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said the vehicle was travelling along the road when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The driver suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The identity of the deceased is not being released pending notification to next-of-kin.

OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team is continuing to investigate.

Charlotteville Road 10 is currently closed between Highway 3 and East Quarter Line Road.

It is anticipated that the road closure will last for the next five hours to allow for further investigation.

The investigation is continuing, and police are looking to speak to witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash cam footage or surveillance video from nearby homes.
