Winter weather travel advisory in affect

A winter weather travel advisory has been issued in the London region for part of the weekend.

According to Environment Canada, snow is expected to develop early Saturday and continue through to Sunday morning.

Scattered snow squalls and strong winds are expected to lead to difficult travel conditions in London, Middlesex, Woodstock, Tillsonburg, and Oxford County.

“Snow combined with strong gusty winds will lead to visibilities suddenly reduced to near zero at times,” read a statement from Environment Canada.

Up to 10 centimeters of snow could accumulate by Sunday morning.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
