Obituary – Allan Hunter

ALLAN HUNTER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan James Hunter (Hutch), 76, of Windsor, Ontario. Allan passed away after a short battle with cancer, peacefully at home with family by his side, on Jan. 10, 2022.
Allan was born to Ida (née Eskrick) and Midford Hunter on Jan. 5, 1946 in Kincardine. He was passionate about academics and athletics throughout the entirety of his life with a special affection for the game of baseball. After graduating Kincardine District Secondary School, Allan completed a degree in mathematics at the University of Western Ontario; a subject which he taught for many years at Walkerton District Secondary School.
Allan is survived by his wife and best friend, Lynda (Hall) Hunter; son Todd (Hirut) and daughters Tammy and Tanis (Mika); brother Ted (Betty) and sister Glenna; and his precious granddaughter, Jalyn (in whom he took great pleasure teasing incessantly). He is also remembered by extended family and friends.
Allan was predeceased by parents Ida and Midford, brother Wayne and daughter-in-law Donna.
Over the years, Allan accumulated many good friends and friendships, which he always cherished and appreciated.
While we would love to hold a memorial service in Allan’s name, he specifically requested no service take place. His ashes will be placed in the memorial wall at the Kincardine Cemetery in the spring of 2022.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a gesture of condolence, please donate to a charity of your choice or Allan’s preferred worthy cause, Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides (www.dogguides.com). Any and all gestures are greatly appreciated.
