NORMA YUNDT
Norma Yundt (née Calder) of Walkerton slipped away suddenly and peacefully while enjoying a cup of coffee and the glorious sunshine at Trillium Court in Kincardine on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 in her 96th year.
Norma will be dearly missed by her children: Jim and his wife Bev of Kincardine, Sandie and her husband Doug Evans of Walkerton, Beth of Kincardine, and Tim and his partner Lana Girodat of Neustadt; and by her grandchildren Jillene (Bryan Lusk), Kristen (Matt Willis), Greg (Cassandra), Sam and Tom; and great-grandchildren Hank, Walt, Keeva, Beau and Jack.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years Eldon, her parents Donald and Elizabeth Calder, sister Edie Calder, and two young children Susan and Christopher.
Our plucky force-to-be-reckoned-with Mom reminded us daily to be grateful and count our blessings. Mom had so much fun and laughter over the years with her dear friends and family. Her latest declaration was, “When you get the call that I’ve died, no tears ’cause I’ve had a wonderful life!” The call came way too soon; cheers to Mom.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful and professional staff at Trillium Court, to the many selfless volunteers who generously and lovingly give of their time, and to Dr. Gary Gurbin for his attention and care.
A private family service will take place at Walkerton Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held next year.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Sleeping Children Around the World or the Walkerton Food Bank would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made online on Norma’s memorial page at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com.
