Obituary – Lynn Scharfenberg

LYNN SCHARFENBERG

Lynn Scharfenberg (née Groombridge) of Kincardine passed away, with family by her side, at London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, at age 73.
Beloved wife of the late Roland Scharfenberg (2015).
Dear mother of Sarah Scharfenberg (Zack Kranjec) and Heather (Corey) McCrae, all of Kincardine. Cherished Nana of Blake and Elsie.
Lovingly remembered by her sister Carol Withers of Toronto and in-laws Ulf (Rollande) Scharfenberg of Kincardine, Lisel (Manfred) Kanter of Port Stanley, Anne (David) Kretzschmar of Mission, B.C., and Joni Scharfenberg of Fairbanks, Alaska. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Dennis and Vera (née Kennard) Groombridge and brother-in-law Randolf Scharfenberg.
Lynn will be remembered for her kind, selfless nature, love of a cup of tea and a chat, and the true love and dedication she showed to her family, friends and everyone around her. Her thoughtfulness made everyone feel special and loved. Lynn had a quiet inner strength that was an admirable quality of hers and something that we will strive to incorporate in our own lives.
A special thank you to Dr. Mangel at the London Regional Cancer Centre for her exceptional care as well as the doctors, nurses and support staff at the London Health Sciences Centre for their dedication and support.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, where the memorial service to honour Lynn’s life was also held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, with Ann Maycock officiating.
Interment Kincardine Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Kincardine Hospital Foundation appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
