County hosting panel with local business leaders

Huron County’s Economic Development is hosting a panel discussion with local business leaders next month and asking them to share their insights and expertise on how to grow a successful business.

Huron Business Centre Manager Britanny Wise says it should be very informative.

“What we’re trying to share information about is how did they get started, what are some of the key points and how are they solving things like hiring or work force issues, how are they retaining employees. There’ll be a series of eight questions. We haven’t finalized what those questions are,” Wise stated.

Wise says the panellists will include Nadine VandenHeuvel of Fit Body Boot Camp, Teresa Van Raay of Van Raay Farms Ltd., Ellen Humphrey-Allen of Humphrey-Allen CPA and Kendra Jewitt of Blooms N’ Rooms.

“There’ll probably be about eight questions and each panellist will be given two to three minutes to answer those questions. Things like what would you tell your younger self, what are the top three things that in your world, have made you a successful entrepreneur. Those type of things,” added Wise.

The Trailblazing Huron County Leadership event will take place on June 8 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Cowbell Brewery in Blyth. Wise says more information about the event and how to get tickets can be found on the Huron County Economic Development web site at https://www.huroncounty.ca/economic/development and they’re asking that people purchase their tickets by Monday, May 29.
